Overview of benefits of textile ducting

This section gives a brief overview of the many benefits of choosing Textile Based Ventilation over conventional steel ducting.

The following areas are covered.

Cost Comparison

Large Fibre ducts >800mm offer a cost saving over similar sized steel ducts on a linear length basis.

Smaller ducts will be cost neutral or offer a small saving once the cost of grilles or diffusers are taken into account.

As soon as a steel duct needs to be painted or insulated, much more significant savings can be realised by using fibre duct.

Installation and transport are areas where the main savings are made.

Environmental Issues

Low Transport CO2 due to low weight of products

Suspension systems are fully recyclable

Low energy product assembly process

Effective air distribution results in lower energy costs

Recycled packaging utilised for transport

Installation or Fibre Ducting

KE quote as a rough guide "two people with good access can install 30m of fibre ducting in a day"

When using an experienced installer, or on a large scale project where experience is quickly gained, this figure may be significantly exceeded.

KE Systems are lightwegt so can be hung from lightweight structures with no additional support.

Maintenance

All metal ducting needs to be cleaned, often by a specialist contractor.

Fibre ducting can often be removed by the end user and collected by courier for washing.

KE Fibertec try to design all of their systems with minimal maintenance as a priority. KE's High Dust Holding Capacity (HDC) material requires washing half as often as a continual fibre weave as offered as standard by other manufacturers.
